Boer Goats, and American Alpine Dairy Goats peacefully reside on our twenty eight acre, partially wooded, farm located near the banks of the Sebasticook River and in the shadow of Saint Albans Mountain in beautiful Saint Albans Maine.

We maintain two goat herds.  One consists of Fullblood South African Boer Goats, and   our newest addition, Registered American Alpine Dairy Goats, raised to provide breeding stock, and dairy products of exceptional quality.

After raising Registered White Angora Goats since 1989, we sadly sold our herd in April 2007.  It was quite a decision to make, but in order to devote more time to our other goats and our new enterprise of commercial meat goats, we realized that the Angoras were a little too work intensive and time consuming.

Oh, my cute little babies, how fast you grew! First five little butts in the creep feeder and now only three fit!

A baby collection!

Dirty knees and adorable little faces! Button's "Clasp" on the left and Nelliebelle's Razzle on the right. (Razzle talks a lot just like his mom!)

My name is "Bunny" and I was born on Easter Sunday!

Spring has finally arrived at Stony Knolls Farm!

Hi!  I'm Hawk-I!  Aren't I cute??

Oh, my darling Slick, how you are growing!  Slick at 3 months. Under Deposit! Congratulations to Pete & Vickie Barnum, of Barnum & Buckley Farm in Massachusetts!

Stur-D is a wonderful little buckling with dirty knees too! Melo-D produced this cutie along with a twin sister named Harmon-E.

What a line up!  Three babies soaking up the sun.  Peter, Harmon-E and Dazzle.

Acquaintances of ours, Joe & Susan Staiano from the Pacific Northwest, just returned from India and sent these amazing goat photos!  Aren't they incredible??  Look at the goat herder in the background!  I love the expression on the white goat in the foreground.

Oh mamma, I am so enjoying this sunshine! Button and her Zipper

Snow, snow and more snow, our little farm is almost buried!

Whoever said goats need warm, dry weather?? Our goats love this!  Can you see Nellie peeking around the corner of the barn??

Although their area is quite confined right now, it won't be long before they can get out and have a ball.

Behind or under (for all we know) is our storage shed!  Hope we don't need anything out of it until July!  Gabe loves climbing these huge snow piles.

Blondie.  It only takes one word to describe this delightful little Bopine.  (Boer/Alpine cross)  She was bottle fed and is now Stony Knolls Farm's full time entertainment!

Oh Patti!  What a girl!  Here she is trying to look alluring enough to sneak a treat.

Is this cute or what?  Tex with Beauty.  Beauty is 18 months old and Tex is 11 months. He seems to like his "older woman"!

White snow, black dog.

Tex surveying his domain!  What a guy!  At 10 months old he already has his working clothes on!  Getting ready for the ladies.

Oh Tex, put your tongue back in, you can't have all the ladies!

Boer Goat cover.jpg (20322 bytes)

WE MADE THE COVER!

March/April 2004 issue of the "Boer Goat", the official magazine of the American Boer Goat Association.

This is the first time that any goat from the Northeast has EVER been featured in such a prominent way.

Stony Knolls Farm  is committed to providing our customers the widest choices possible in blood lines.  We are constantly in contact with breeders throughout the United States so as not to perpetuate static bloodlines in the State of Maine.  It is through this commitment that we are able to offer animals from such breeders as Don Smith, Downen Livestock,   Thomas Farms, E.G.G.S.,   Landcorp Farming, and Buck-N-Bull Farm to name just a few.

We work hard avoiding stagnation and interbreeding in our herd and in our customers herds!

Another cover girl!  Our Button is on the February 2007 edition of Meat Goat Monthly, plus there is a great article about our farm and Goat School!
